Young 5’s Preparing for Baby Elliott
Congratulations Lindemann! Lindy has surpassed our goal of being able to encircle the main hallway! In March Lindemann students read at home with parents and filled in circles that make up our display. Thousands of circles came in, Mr. Rhodes will be having an “Estimation Contest” for Lindemann students to predict the total number. As the final circles come in, and we finish displaying the ones we have, kindergarten and first grade hallway may also end up encircled. Thank you everyone that participated and made this such a success!

Dos and Don’ts Dress Code

The community, parents and teachers expect the
school to maintain high standards of behavior and
dress. Furthermore, they recognize the
enforcement of these standards as being in the best
interest of children. Each school is responsible for
developing its own guidelines. Therefore any mode
of dress or grooming which is unhealthy, unsafe or
in any way inappropriate and which interferes with
or distracts from the learning situation, is not
allowed. At Lindemann, the following articles of
clothing are not worn in school:
• hats, head scarves,
• short-shorts ~ shorts must be fingertip
length,
• tank tops, half-shirts or net shirts ~ shirts
must have sleeves
• no sprayed on or unnatural hair color
• clothing that displays inappropriate sayings
or pictures will not be permitted.
• heelies may not be worn in school
Parents will be contacted when clothing is
considered inappropriate.

 BLUE JEAN DRIVE AT APPS!

Dear APPS Staff & Families,

Plans are underway for an Art for the Sky Project that will involve approximately 1,500 students from Arno, Bennie and Lindemann Elementary – our students will be part of a giant living painting!  The creation will be an artful blend of science, history and math – a whole-body way of stimulating the imagination to see the elusive ‘big picture’ and help us better understand our interconnection with all life.

HERE’S WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP!  Blue jeans – all colors of jean and all sizes – are needed to create the background of the art project.  Please consider donating blue jeans you no longer need by bringing them to any school office by May 23.  Following completion of the project, the blue jeans will be donated to charity – so they will continue to be put to good use!

Below is a link for a recent Art for the Sky Project involving 5,000 participants from 21 schools in Holland!
